Well, for the Weekly Photo Challenge 3-picture-story, these may not be the most visually exciting trio, but they do tell a story…
We were having issues with patrons ducking into the bathrooms as we announced we were closed and then we’d be upwards of 10 minutes past closing waiting for them. The solution was to order this whiteboard. Picture one is Annie assembling it; picture 2 is the finished product; picture 3 is our use of it to prevent last-minute detours from the exit.
Funny thing, even with the sign, people will ask the closers, “Are the bathrooms really closed?”
“Yes.”
“Really?”
“Do you have an emergency?”
“No…”
“Then, yes, they are really closed.”
We also amended our 10-minute pre-closure warning announcement to say, “Now is the time to close up your laptops, check out your items and use the restrooms…”
Wish us luck in getting out of here on time!
What’s your “customer service” story?

People don’t read. Use a yellow police tape instead. 😛
Haha. Good idea!

I like your three-picture story!
The toilet is locked, and somehow I just lost the key. Hahaha…

We always had problems with the bathrooms.. Ours were old..and waiting on patrons to leave when closing in a matter of minutes was annoying. I have lots of stories..lol!
So you are a librarian too! Awesome! You should submit some of your stories to the guys at Unshelved–the comic stip about Dewey the Librarian. http://www.unshelved.com/
Good morning! My position was that of a page.. The lowly ones..lol! that ran the circulation desk.. We did a little of everything. All was well until we got a new computer system and it was miserable. We had a lot of changes and had a wonderful supervisor but too much stress.. I really did enjoy my job..I will check out the link! Thank you!
As we say here at the Tumwater Library–every position is essential! This grind to a halt when we have no one to shelve the books!
